Some of this blog’s overarching themes have been all over the news lately:
- Related to my exploration of how rurality can counteract or coexist with technology and the internet, a recent study links internet use and depression. (via Reuters)
- Extending from this blog’s past discussions of women and farming, this amazing new program in Kentucky uses gardening for survivors and victims of domestic violence. Props, Appalachia. (via Lexington Herald-Leader)
- Two of my favorite things combined! Treehugger.com looks at artists’ gardens.
- It’s not just artificial food coloring and Tylenol PM that affects your brain; it may be your whole diet. A study (finally) examines the relationship between the “Western Diet” and ADHD.* Yet another reason to take a more holistic view of food and our quality of life. (via Journal of Attention Disorders)
